Biography
Carlos Hernández Ulloa is an expert on AI Problem Solving. He received his Bachelors’s degree from Universidad de Concepción (Chile) and then a Ph.D. (Computer Science) from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (CSIC-Spain). He is currently a Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad San Sebastián (Chile). Dr. Hernandez's research interests include Heuristic Search, Automated Planning, and Knowledge Representation, with a focus on Real-Time, On-Line, Multi-Agent and Multi-Objective problems. He has more that more than 70 publications in top journals and conferences. He has led several national and international research projects, including Fondecyt-Chile, FIA-Chile and NSF. In addition, he constantly provides services to the national and international AI community as a program committee for top-tier journals and conferences. He is past president (2019-2024) of the Chilean Association of Computer Science (SCCC).
